Luxury Double-Door Rigid Wine Gift Box

A double-door rigid box holds two bottles as a set. When the doors open symmetrically, the reveal feels more ceremonial than a standard lid-and-base. Wineries and gift-set buyers get a premium rigid presentation, but without the weight or cost of solid wood. You're looking at high-strength multi-layer rigid cardboard with a soft-touch or textured finish. Specify dimensions, print, logo, and finishing options like foil stamping, embossing, or UV coating. It's not a solid wood box, and we'll tell you plainly when that matters.

  • Double-door structure. From the center, two symmetrical doors open to display the bottles. The reveal is the point of this box.
  • Rigid board build. High-strength multi-layer cardboard, not corrugated. It holds its shape. It protects the bottles during handling.
  • Soft-touch or textured finish. You choose the facing paper: smooth and tactile, or textured. Both take print well.
  • Custom fit for two bottles. Since the insert is built to your bottle dimensions, each bottle is held at four points. No unsupported neck or shoulder.
  • Magnetic closure optional. Magnets keep the doors shut. Ribbon pulls or metallic accents are also available if you want them.

Customisation

Set the dimensions to your bottle and choose the facing paper and finish. Add your logo by foil stamping, embossing, or UV coating. The insert can be a velvet tray, EVA foam, or paper mould, built to your bottle shape. Magnetic closures, ribbon pulls, and metallic accents are optional. Send us your bottle dimensions or a sample, a reference design, and your quantity, and we'll work from there.

How the box is built

Multi-layer rigid board makes the base. For wine boxes, we use greyboard at 1200 g minimum, and we recommend 1400 g for spirits. The facing paper is 157 g minimum specialty or coated stock. That combination gives you a box that keeps its shape on a retail shelf and doesn't flex when a buyer picks it up by one corner.

Cut and creased as part of the same rigid structure, the double doors are not made using recycled greyboard or high-moisture paper, because both can warp or crack at the hinge. The corners are built to sit at 90 degrees when the box is erected. Repeated opening must not crack the creases.

Bottle fit and checks

Rather than a generic cavity, the insert is built to your bottle dimensions. Each bottle is held at four points, with no unsupported neck or shoulder. Our control tolerance for inserts is plus or minus 1 mm, and for the box body it's plus or minus 2 mm. We run three checks on a loaded sample before packing. Shake for 10 seconds and look for movement. Tilt to 45 degrees to see if the bottle slides. Invert the box to confirm the bottle does not release. If it fails any of those, we rework the insert before production.

Where this box works

This box suits wineries selling a two-bottle gift set, and it also works for collectors presenting a pair, or for retail displays where the unboxing is part of the sale. Because the double-door structure adds a ceremonial step that a simple lid does not, it's a good choice when the buyer wants a premium rigid presentation without sole wood. It's lighter and less expensive to ship. It's the wrong choice for heavy single-bottle shipping, or for buyers who want the heft and grain of a wooden crate. For those, look at our solid wood range instead.

Buyer questions

Can you make this box for a single bottle instead of two?

Yes. The double-door structure works for one bottle or two. We adjust the insert and the internal layout to match your bottle count and dimensions. If you have a specific bottle shape, send us a sample or the dimensions. We'll build the insert to hold it at four points.

How do you make sure the doors don't open in transit?

We recommend a magnetic closure for this structure, with magnets positioned at plus or minus 1 mm so the doors stay shut. Before packing, we run a 1.2 m six-face drop test with bottles loaded. Truck and sea vibration simulations check that the doors don't open and the bottles don't move.

Is this box as strong as a wooden wine box?

No. It's rigid board, not solid wood, so it protects the bottles for gifting and retail display, but it won't take the same rough handling as a wooden crate. If you're shipping heavy bottles or stacking boxes high, a solid wood box or a shipping-grade corrugated box is the better choice.
